Group F
A couple of huge rental days on the Engleman moved the glue from the turns to the straights, making for treacherous footing for the Group F cars. From what I saw on the board, no one broke under five seconds; there were some bogus fast lap times caused by wheelie-outs turning into riders ahead of the lap counter. Jeff Coulam, after a multi-race absence, made the best of conditions and took the win, just two laps ahead of hard-charging James Meadours, who made a fantastic comeback from a bad start.
Results, modified crash-and-burn format (racer.laps.FT):
1. Jeff Coulam.............232.....NT
2. James Meadours......230.....NT
3. Scott Taylor.............224.....5.1642
4. John Gonzalez.........217.....5.3835
5. Aiden Trinidad.........216.....NT
6. Ken Reese...............212.....NT
Open F
In Open F, the traction magnets helped, but most everyone crashed a lot while my car was on rails, probably because it was so slow and torque-less; it only de-slotted a couple times when I out-braked myself on red under the bridge. James led much of the way and backed-up his excellent Group F race with another second. Jeff was third ahead of Ken Reese who struggled with a poor-handling car. John Gonzalez was super-fast but spent way too much time in the pits, and Aiden Trinidad made laps—he’s young and learning, and fun to have in the races!
Results, modified crash-and-burn format (racer.laps.FT):
1. Scott Taylor..............320.....NT
2. James Meadours.......309.....3.8986
3. Jeff Coulam..............274.....3.8987
4. Ken Reese................262.....3.7420
5. John Gonzalez..........229.....3.5075
6. Aiden Trinidad..........195.....4.5476
