Saturday, April 24, the LMP and the Flexi Wing cars raced at Charlie's Garage in Pearl, MS. This was a remarkable day for the local slot car scene as there were three completely new people running on the track the same day. We had David Probst, his daughter Heather Dorris, and her daughter Taylor Dorris to complete three generations of the same family racing together. It was Heather's first time on the Charlie's Garage track. Brandon Jackson and his son Brandon Jr. were also there running cars for the first time. It is great to see new participation in our hobby and I look forward to seeing both Jackson's buying new cars and racing with us soon.
We raced the Flexi Wing cars first due to the request of one of the local wing car racers earlier in the week. Bill Carlin raced to the front early with Taylor Dorris, Bill Patterson, Chuck Hendricks, and Heather Dorris giving chase. It wasn't long before Taylor moved to the front for good with Bill close behind in 2nd, Bill P 3rd, Chuck 4th, and Heather 5th. At the finish Taylor took a close win over Bill C. with Bill P. getting 3rd followed closely by Chuck and Heather.

We raced, we had fun, we socialized, and we met new people. The best definition of a great day of racing. Not to mention that eight of us went out to eat after the races. Food is good!
