2021 Car Building Specs are in the attached PDF file.
Not a lot of changes: a couple of new bodies and a couple of new motors is about it.
I hope to have the racing schedule signed-off by the shops and published by early February.
Note May 29, 2021: Revisions are reflected in the new attachment below.

Three new motors have been added in "Appendix C – Pro GTP Motors": - Argentina Slot Raptor (AS2000) - Top Secret Terminator (TSM004) - TWP (TWP70KBB) That's it. No more new motors for 2021. Note June 2, 2021: Changes to tire rules as follows. See the revised PDF file below.

I really hate changing rules during the middle of things, but here's a new one out of necessity.
2.C Rear Tires of the car building rules specifically disallows full-width hubs. At this moment it appears that there is a shortage of regular-width hubs across the known slot car universe...PA can't get them, and Koford and Alpha don't have them either, at least not as available through distributors.
So, effective immediately, the ban on full-width hubs is lifted.

Please note the following revisions to Section "2.C Rear Tires".
****************
2.C Rear Tires (Note changes June 12, 2021)
Only natural rubber rear tires (aka “fish,” Tuna, Piranha, etc.) and wonder rubber tires are allowed.
The “Official Tires of the South Texas Scale Series” are P.A. Watson’s Jet Scale Spec natural rubber tires. Other manufacturers’ natural rubber tires and wonder rubber tires are also allowed provided their retail price does not exceed $15.00/pair.
When selecting tires, be sure to note that the following are specifically disallowed in all cases:
* chemically-treated tires Revision: treated natural/fish tires are available under the new price limit and are now allowed. * drilled hubs Revision: drilled hubs are available under the new price limit and are now allowed. This does NOT extend to waffled hubs, which are not allowed regardless of price. * full-width hubs Revision: full-width hubs were allowed as of June 2. * speed rubber tires are not allowed; and * any tire with a suggested retail price higher than $15.00/pair is not allowed.
For rear tires, there are no maximum or minimum diameters or widths; just make sure the car meets clearance and dimensions stated in Section 2.A.

On May 29, I posted "...no more new motors...," but never say never, I suppose.
There has apparently been a QC issue with one of the more popular LMP motors that has resulted in at least a short-term availability issue. With races next Saturday, I'm adding one new motor in "Appendix A – LMP Motors": - Chicagoland Raceway Stage 4 (CR104)

Two new bodies have been added to the legal bodies list:
- Kelly Eagle KE 1852A (LMP, Appendix B) - Kelly Falcon KE1874A (Pro GTP, Appendix D)
A couple of notes about these bodies:
- They're very similar to the Ralph Thorne Orca and Viking bodies but the front corners are more squared-off. I'm hoping they'll be able to take a few more hits than the RT bodies before tearing apart at the front corners. - I can't find them on Eagle or ERI distributor pages so they may be difficult to get through those channels. But PA seems to have plenty if you want to get some from him.
The attached PDF file reflects these additions as well as other changes noted above. 2021 SoTXSS Car Building Specs revision 5 0....pdf (201.17 KB)
