Ken Reese again went wire-to-wire in Group F, this time finishing a whopping 30 laps up on James Meadours who was a straightaway ahead of me. Ronnie Peña started heat 8 tied with James and me, but got caught up in others’ crashes to finish fourth, and young Aiden Trinidad bulled his way to 183 laps and just missed getting second-fastest lap!
Results, modified crash-and-burn format (racer.laps.FT):
1. Ken Reese...............265......4.6565
2. James Meadours......235......5.2187
3. Scott Taylor.............235......5.3750
4. Ronnie Peña............232......5.1635
5. Aiden Trinidad.........183......5.1640
Open F
Charles Campa grabbed the lead in heat 3, and held on while the rest of us crashed and broke trying to catch up…to no avail. I managed to apply some late heat, but that effort ended early in heat 8 with a couple of quick crashes in the Deadman. Eliott Martinez had an unusually bad race...by his standards, anyway...to finish third. Ronnie and James had a good race for fourth with Ronnie prevailing. Ken Reese was very fast early, setting fastest lap, but a succession of mechanical maladies dropped him to the final spot.
Results, modified crash-and-burn format (racer.laps.FT):
1. Charles Campa.........332......3.8970
2. Scott Taylor.............329......3.8977
3. Eliott Martinez..........304......3.7269
4. Ronnie Peña............296......4.0616
5. James Meadours......293......4.2891
6. Ken Reese...............230......3.7345
