The newly-reassembled Hillclimb at Slot Car Raceway was faster than ever, we had a good turnout, and good fun racing. Thanks to PA, Shelby Thomas, Gary Puetz, and whoever I've failed to mention, for work getting the track into shape. The racing surface and braid were great; looking forward to seeing the final paint job.

This one was very close. PA had us covered at the start, big time, setting TQ with a good car and Hillclimb skills that none of us can come close to. Unfortunately for him, damage from a big crash in Heat 3 put him so far down that he couldn't catch up. After Heat 7, Ken Stevens had three laps on second-place Scott Pace and four laps on me in third. In the final heat, Ken pulled a good 39 laps on the slow white lane, while Scott fared badly on black, and I pulled 43 out of my back pocket on orange. At the end, Ken and I were tied at 315 with his car 15 feet ahead on the track for the win. Scott was one lap back in third.

Pro GTP
In Pro GTP we ran crash-and-burn because the volunteer marshals present in LMP managed to filter out between races. In their defense, I would have, too. So, with King Track wing car guys Shelby Thomas and Scott Pace joining the action, it just seemed like a natural advantage for us more experienced crash-and-burn racers making up the rest of the line-up. "Hey, we got this, right?"
Well, not exactly. The reality was just the opposite, proving that: 1) experienced crash-and-burn racers can screw things up as much as anyone else, and 2) more importantly, good racers like Shelby and Scott can adapt and do well no matter what gets thrown at them because, in the end, they swept the top two spots and it wasn't even close. The rest of us were looking for excuses.
TQ: Scott Taylor (I didn't get the time...will post ASAP)
Results: (racer...laps...fast lap)
